Ningbo Retired Cadres (Senior) Activity Centerwas founded in 1991 under the approval of Ningbo Institutional Organization Staffing Commission, a government institution directly under Ningbo Personnel Bureau with a total building area of 2174 square meters and officially operated on 1st Oct, 1992. The main functions of Ningbo Retired Cadres (Senior) Activity Center are to provide cultural and recreational activity, sports and fitness activity for retired cadres of municipal government institutions and civilian old people. Ningbo Retired Cadres (Senior) Activity Center now has 18 activity rooms with activity space of near 2000 square meters and 25 teams which persists in cultural and physical activities all the year round. More than 500 people take part in various activities in the activity center every day, and more than 7000 middle-aged and elderly people have the membership card of the activity center. For the last decade, the Center had received more than 1 million visits. Ningbo Retired Cadres (Senior) Activity Center has been a comprehensive activity place combining fitness, recreation and learning, praised as Advanced Senior Activity Center by Zhejiang Committee on Aging in 2001.
